Reclaiming The Nations
787 Generation and Oyugis Safe Kids
We teach the children each Saturday at 4:30 a.m. Eastern time via the Internet. Here they are gathered around the laptop listening to Darlene.
Some of them were concerned that Darlene and I lived in the laptop, but they are anxiously awaiting our arrival.
We have been working with Oyugis Safe Kids in Oyugis, Kenya for three years. Bishop Jacob Ongala is the director and he is also pastor of Victory International Church.
We began with three children and a smartphone and now we have over one hundred and thirty children enrolled with an average attendance on Saturday of around ninety.
We have come a long way but we still have far to go. There are many needs which you can see on our needs page here.
Support for Oyugis Safe Kids
Doing missions is never easy and there are always many challenges, whether working in person or via the Internet. We formed a partnership with Oyugis Safe Kids in 2021 and have built on it to the point we are committed to seeing a generation educated and grow in the Oyugis and Homa Bay area.
To conduct lessons weekly there are ongoing costs, such as monthly wifi, food, and transportation costs every Saturday as well as supplies such as copy paper, crayons, and markers.
In addition to these, we have helped purchase school uniforms for ten children whose parents lack the means to do so themselves. Then there are the weekly soccer games that bring out sometimes up to eighty students. That means they will need to be fed after the lessons. The work continues to grow and we have had to turn children away in the past due to lack of food and enough room for quality lessons.
Currently, Oyugis Safe Kids meets at Victory International Church. There is limited space and Sister Dorcus does a great job of cooking and serving the kids each week. But she needs tables, and other equipment to enhance the experience and keep ‘Safe’ in Oyugis Safe Kids.
As we grow, the needs grow as well. Contact us to find out how you can support Oyugis Safe Kids or click here.
This video is narrated by Bishop Ongala and will walk you through the three year history of Oyugis Safe Kids.
Farm Project
Due to the scarcity of food and high levels of poverty in Kenya and the Oyugis area, many children come to Oskar and receive a hot meal that is often their only meal for days.
While we are committed to helping offset these food gaps, we are helping the team to grow their own food. This project is costly but will provide food for Oskar and teach many to grow their food. Consider donating to this worthy project as we need $1000 to begin.
Welcome to Child Evangelism. Oskar stands for Oyugis Safe Kids African Revivalists, and we now over twelve 10-14 year olds who love doing just that. They are fearless and we are equipping them to see Africa Transformed.
